Cats&Dogs Airdrop Verification: Why You Should Not Pay

Cats&Dogs is a telegram airdrop mini-app that lets users earn potential crypto token known as $Food on an hourly basis by returning to the app every couple of hours. Recently, they announced that users have to complete the airdrop verification step to qualify for distribution of their earned tokens. It is kind of enticing considering that a lot of users took the project seriously, but is it safe?

In this article, we will be having a look at some key aspects of the project and the reason why paying for the airdrop verification may not be the best decision. I perfectly understand what it takes to spend so much time on a project only for it to start requiring payment at the end to distribute your mined tokens but it’s better to waste time than to waste money alongside only to not get what you paid for.

The cats&Dogs project is a weird combination of the names of two projects we’ve participated in the past but the team claims to be different from the two — rightfully so, what users mine and accumulate on the mini-app is known as Food tokens. So each time you open the app to grab the tokens, you are said to be grabbing more food for the animals.

The project has been on for a couple of months now and seems to have gained significant publicity. But in what could be referred to as the unfortunate twist of events, they added monetary requirement as part of the steps one needs to complete in order to partake in their upcoming airdrop.

This singular act has led to questions about the legitimacy of the project and whether it’s safe to spend such amount of money on a project that’s yet to have made any public announcement regarding listing or whatnot.

Cats&Dogs Airdrop Verification Requirements

There are a few things they claim users who are interested in participating in the upcoming airdrop need to do in order to be well positioned for the airdrop and they are as follows;

• Verify for Airdrop – this has to do with purchasing an OG pass which costs about 175 telegram stars. It appears to be the first and most important requirement for their airdrop and users who don’t buy it may not be given anything from their mined tokens. We’ve seen such play out on some other projects — so this may not be an exception.
• Connect OKX wallet and Bitget Wallet – users who are looking to partake in the airdrop are also expected to connect their crypto wallets to the mini-app in order to be well positioned. Wallet connection is a normal thing on most telegram mini-apps especially when token generation event is approaching but the risk often has to do with the chances of being scammed if you link your wallet to a fraudulent project.

Why You Should Not Pay for Airdrop Verification

There are several important reasons why you should reconsider paying for the Cats&Dogs OG pass and we will be talking about the most important ones;

1. No Fixed Date for Listing – the first negative sign and reason not to spend a dime purchasing the OG pass is the fact that there is no listing date in sight for the $Food token on any exchange yet they want users to spend such an amount in activating OG.

It shows desperation on the part of the administrators of the project and also casts doubt as to the legitimacy of the cats&dogs project. So for your own good, steer clear entirely, if you earned alot of tokens and wouldn’t mind risking it, then the best thing is to wait for listing announcement on some exchanges before you proceed with the purchase.

Listing announcement or even premarket trading are often positive indications that a project means business and not just out to scam people. There’s been no listing announcement or premarket trading of $Food, yet they want users to spend money on purchase of an OG pass.

2. USDT Equivalent of Token Before Listing – based on my experience on many other telegram airdrops and even crypto mining projects outside of telegram, the ones that display the USDT equivalent of their token before listing or even premarket are often fraudulent.

The developers intentionally show a juicy and attractive conversion to lure users who have a lot to pay for something. The USDT equivalent you see is a trick to encourage people to spend money on the OG pass.

It’s not the actual listing price — if it eventually gets listed on exchanges, the price will most likely be distinct from what you are currently seeing and they may also bring other annoying rules. Reason why it’s never a wise move to spend money carelessly on any airdrop especially the one with no clear direction as this.

3. No partnerships, no exchange mentions – it’s normal for a telegram project advancing to TGE and listing phase but that is not the case of Cats&dogs. They’ve had literally no public partnerships with other projects and none of the exchanges have mentioned the project.

It’s never a positive sign for a potential airdrop to not have any partners or at least be mentioned by the exchange looking to list their crypto token — which is yet another reason not to hastily spend money on their airdrop verification.

4. Most tap-to-earn projects on telegram that ask users to spend money on things like OG pass or pay for kind of verification don’t end up listing favourably. Even if cats&dogs list their $Food token there is a high likelihood that it wouldn’t list at a good price.

Projects like this never do well and they end up getting listed on just one or two crypto exchanges thus limiting the possibility of their token becoming a major deal. So for that reason, it is highly unadvisable to spend a dime in the name of paying for airdrop.

Additionally, the idea of paying money after you’ve mined for months, defeats the concept of an airdrop and also undermines the efforts of the users who’d been mining and accumulating the token for months.

Conclusion

Cats&dogs airdrop verification is a shady move from the project and judging from what we’ve witnessed in the past, it’ll clearly not be considered a wise move to spend money on OG pass or any verification whatsoever. The project doesn’t look legit and as such, any money spent on it could be as good as lost.
