Sigma is a newly launched mini-app on telegram that claims to be allocating users with airdrop based on their activity on the TON Blockchain. As we all know, the past year was literally the era of telegram tap-to-earn, but it seems mini-app has transitioned from just tapping to something more complicated.

First was based on the age of telegram account now, sigma has introduced a new kind of airdrop requirement. It seems there is no limit as to the amount of sigma a user can earn by referring others. So if you have a large team, it could be an easier way to boost your overall balance. So endeavour to double your initial rewards by sharing the link to others.

It’s important to always check the task page from time to time as there is a high likelihood, more tasks will be uploaded to the page to enable users who are not able to boost their balance via referrals, earn more tokens.

How to Get Started

To get started, you either search for “Sigmatonbot” using the search button on telegram or simply copy this link – https://t.me/sigmatonbot/app?startapp=ref_h1icqr and paste on a browser to directly access the bot.

Launch the mini-app, you will be asked to connect your TON wallet, if you’ve been using TONkeeper or MyTONWallet, simply select it and upon authorization of the connection, you would be rewarded with some tokens to start with.

After getting your initial tokens, you either have to complete the few tasks or start referring others to accumulate more.

Final Verdict

Sigma is the latest addition to the list of telegram crypto projects but it came with a unique idea. There is no way to say it’s legit or scam at the moment, since the project is just starting and for the fact that, most of these crypto projects can’t be predicted as they launch.

However, there is something weird about it and that is the lack of endorsement by TON or any TON influencer. In the past, we used to see similar projects get endorsed by TON Blockchain representatives especially if they have plans to list on the chain.

That is not the case on sigma and in all honesty, it’s something to worry about since users are connecting their TON wallets to the mini-app — which alone is a risk.

But if you are willing to take risk, it might be better if you clear your TON wallet (send out all the tokens) before the connection at least to get rid of any chances of getting scammed if things go south.

Pros

There are certain things about sigma that makes me optimistic about it and some of them are;

• Unique Idea – based on previous experience, I have personally come to the conclusion that projects with a unique idea often perform well.
• No tapping at all – the era of tap-to-earn has long past and I love the fact that, the administrators of sigma understood the handwriting on the wall.
• Less circulation of tokens – judging from what we can see on the mini-app, it seems what we are earning at the moment is the real sigma token and the fact that less rewards are being given out is a good sign. Tokens given to users in a frugal manner often list at a good price.

Cons

On the other hand, there are certain red flags or things not-so-good about the project;

• Referral based – it’s most rewarding for people who are able to refer others. As someone who is privileged to build a large team, I noticed this flaw and thought it wise to talk about.
• The YouTube Channel – one of the tasks to complete on sigma is the “Follow Our YouTube” task and to be honest, I felt bad about it. I dislike projects with YouTube channel — they come off as unprepared to me.
